Overview & Benefits

Launched by the Ministry of Labour & Employment, the e-Shram portal aims to create a comprehensive National Database of Unorganized Workers (NDUW). Registered workers receive an e-Shram card with a 12-digit Universal Account Number (UAN). Benefits include Rs. 2 Lakh accidental insurance cover (PMSBY) and targeted delivery of social security schemes.

Eligibility Criteria

Any unorganized sector worker (construction, migrant, gig worker, street vendor, domestic worker, etc.) aged 16-59 years. Must NOT be an income tax payer or a member of EPFO/ESIC.

Application Process

1. Visit eshram.gov.in.

2. Click on ‘Register on eShram’.

3. Enter Aadhaar-linked mobile number and OTP.

4. Enter Aadhaar number for e-KYC.

5. Fill demographic, educational, and bank details.

6. Download the generated e-Shram card instantly.
