Managed by the Ministry of External Affairs, an Indian Passport is an essential travel document for international transit and a definitive proof of Indian citizenship. The Passport Seva Project enables fully digitized, transparent, and quick processing of passport applications through PSKs and POPSKs.
Eligibility Criteria
All Indian citizens by birth, descent, registration, or naturalization are eligible. Minors require consent from parents/guardians. Police verification is mandatory for almost all adult applicants.
Required Documents
- Proof of Present Address (Aadhaar, Voter ID, Utility Bill, Bank Passbook)
- Proof of Date of Birth (Birth Certificate, School Transfer Certificate, PAN)
- Non-ECR proof (10th/12th Marksheet/Degree if applicable)
- Annexures for minors or special cases

Application Process
1. Register on passportindia.gov.in.
2. Login and click ‘Apply for Fresh/Re-issue’.
3. Fill the online form.
4. Pay the fee (Rs. 1500 for normal, Rs. 3500 for Tatkaal) and book an appointment.
5. Visit the PSK with original documents for biometric capture.
