Globally recognized (UN Public Service Award), Kanyashree Prakalpa incentivizes the education of teenage girls and delays their marriages. It provides an annual scholarship of Rs. 1,000 (K1) and a massive one-time grant of Rs. 25,000 (K2) when the girl turns 18, provided she is unmarried and continuing her education.

Eligibility Criteria

Unmarried girls enrolled in classes VIII-XII or college/university. Age: 13-18 years for K1, 18-19 years for K2. (Income criteria has been waived off, making it universal for all girls in Govt/Aided institutions).

Required Documents

  • Birth Certificate
  • Unmarried Declaration by parents/student
  • Bank Account Details (Single Account)
  • Institution Bonafide Certificate
  • Aadhaar Card

Application Process

1. Collect the application form (K1 or K2) from the Head of the Institution (School/College).

2. Open a bank account in the girl’s name.

3. Submit the filled form with documents to the institution.

4. The institution uploads the data to the Kanyashree portal.
