The Khadya Sathi scheme by the Department of Food & Supplies, GoWB, ensures food security by issuing Digital Ration Cards. It provides highly subsidized food grains to eligible families. It also acts as a primary proof of identity and residence.

Eligibility Criteria

Any bonafide resident of West Bengal who does not possess a ration card, or wishes to convert a paper card to a digital one. Different categories (AAY, PHH, SPHH, RKSY-I, RKSY-II) are allotted based on socio-economic status.

Required Documents

• Aadhaar Card of all family members
• Voter ID Card of head of family
• Age proof for minors (<5 years)

Application Process

1. Visit the WBPDS portal (food.wb.gov.in).

2. Click on ‘Apply for New Ration Card’ (Form 4) or ‘Correction’ (Form 5).

3. Authenticate with mobile OTP.

4. Fill family details and upload documents.

5. Track status using the generated barcode/mobile number.
