Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) is the world’s largest government-funded healthcare program. It provides cashless secondary and tertiary care hospitalization to over 50 crore vulnerable citizens. It covers 1,949 procedures including surgeries, medical treatments, and day care, with no cap on family size or age.

Eligibility Criteria

Vulnerable families identified by the SECC 2011 database (deprivation criteria), Antyodaya Anna Yojana (AAY) cardholders, and specific occupational categories (ragpickers, domestic workers, etc.). Recently extended to all ASHA and Anganwadi workers.

Application Process

1. Check eligibility on the ‘Am I Eligible’ portal using mobile/Ration card.

2. Visit an empaneled hospital (public or private) or CSC.

3. Authenticate identity via Aadhaar e-KYC.

4. Obtain the Ayushman Card (Golden Card) for cashless treatment.
