An income certificate is an official document issued by the state government certifying the annual income of an individual or their family from all sources. It is absolutely essential for claiming fee concessions in education, applying for scholarships like SVMCM, and obtaining EWS status.
Eligibility Criteria
Any resident of West Bengal requiring proof of income for official purposes.
Required Documents
- Salary Slip or IT Return (For salaried/business)
- Gram Pradhan / Councilor Income Proof (For rural/unorganized)
- Aadhaar Card
- Passport Photo
Application Process
1. Visit the e-District WB portal.
2. Login and select ‘Certificates’ > ‘Income Certificate’.
3. Fill in the applicant details and total annual income.
4. Upload the supporting documents (Pradhan certificate, Aadhaar, Photo).
5. Submit and wait for approval (usually takes 3-7 days) to download the digital certificate.
