Sabooj Sathi is an award-winning initiative by the GoWB to increase retention in higher classes, prevent dropouts, and empower students—especially girls—by providing them with free bicycles. This enhances their mobility and encourages them to complete their school education.

Eligibility Criteria

All students studying in classes IX, X, XI, and XII in Government, Government-aided, and Madrasah schools in West Bengal.

Required Documents

• School ID Card
• Aadhaar Card
• Enrollment record in the school register

Application Process

1. There is no direct individual application process.

2. The Head of the Institution prepares the list of eligible enrolled students.

3. The data is uploaded to the Sabooj Sathi portal.

4. Bicycles are distributed directly at the schools during designated distribution drives.
