The West Bengal Student Credit Card scheme is a revolutionary step to ensure no student is deprived of higher education due to lack of funds. It provides a collateral-free loan up to Rs. 10 Lakh at a low 4% simple interest rate. The state government acts as the guarantor.

Eligibility Criteria

Must have resided in WB for at least 10 years. Upper age limit is 40 years. Must be enrolled in Class 10 or above, UG, PG, Professional courses, or competitive exam coaching inside or outside India.

Required Documents

  • Aadhaar Card (Student and Co-borrower/Parent)
  • PAN Card (or Undertaking)
  • Admission Receipt and Course Fee Document
  • Income Proof
  • Photographs

Application Process

1. Visit wbscc.wb.gov.in.

2. Register and fill the comprehensive loan application form.

3. The application is verified by the educational institution.

4. It is forwarded to the Higher Education Dept, and then to the Bank.

5. Once approved by the bank, funds are disbursed directly to the institution.
