The Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means (SVMCM) Scholarship (also known as Bikash Bhavan Scholarship) assists meritorious students from economically backward families. It provides high-value monthly stipends (Rs. 1000 to Rs. 8000 depending on the course) for HS, UG, PG, Medical, and Engineering studies.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be a resident of WB. Must have scored at least 60% marks in the last qualifying board/university exam (53% for Kanyashree K3). Family income must not exceed Rs. 2.5 Lakh per annum.

Required Documents

  • Marksheet of last exam
  • Income Certificate (Issued by Jt. BDO or higher)
  • Admission Receipt
  • Bank Passbook
  • Aadhaar Card
  • Domicile Certificate (Aadhaar/Voter ID)

Application Process

1. Visit svmcm.wbhed.gov.in.

2. Register and generate an Applicant ID.

3. Login and fill out the detailed form.

4. Upload all scanned original documents.

5. Submit the application. No hard copy submission is required; verification is done online by the institution (HOI).
