The ‘Jal Swapna’ project aims to provide functional household tap connections (FHTC) to every rural household in West Bengal. In urban areas, water connections are managed by the respective municipalities. The goal is to ensure safe and adequate drinking water for all.

Eligibility Criteria

Households currently lacking a piped drinking water connection.

Required Documents

  • Address Proof
  • Identity Proof (Aadhaar)
  • Latest Property Tax Receipt (for urban areas)

Application Process

1. For rural areas: Contact the local Gram Panchayat or PHED officials during outreach drives.

2. For urban areas: Apply online via the specific Municipality portal or submit a physical application with a plumber’s estimate to the water supply department.
